Sholom Lowenthal, MS, LMSW

Therapist

I have over a decade of experience supporting youth with and without special needs, as well as individuals across the lifespan—from elementary-aged children to older adults—facing a wide range of emotional and behavioral challenges. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or feeling stuck in a transition, I’m here to help you clarify your goals and take practical, meaningful steps toward lasting change.

My approach is collaborative and strengths-based, grounded in evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Therapy. In our work together, we’ll begin by understanding what brings you to therapy and identifying the outcomes you hope to achieve. With CBT, we’ll explore how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors interact—and develop tools to challenge unhelpful patterns. Motivational and solution-focused techniques will help you stay connected to your strengths and move forward with purpose.

I often collaborate with families, schools, and other professionals to take a holistic view of healing. Therapy with me typically includes identifying behavioral patterns, building new coping strategies, and deepening self-awareness. Many clients begin to notice positive shifts as we work together toward personal growth and emotional resilience.

I’m a Licensed Master Social Worker with a background in Behavioral Science and specialized training in CBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I’ve worked in outpatient clinics, school systems, and community-based settings, supporting individuals managing OCD, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and trauma. Whether in individual therapy or rehabilitation services, I strive to provide a calm, warm, and steady presence.

No matter where you're starting from, I’ll meet you there. My goal is to create a compassionate space where you feel supported, understood, and empowered to take steady steps toward a more fulfilling life and stronger relationships.
